BACK TO HIS BEST?

It has been a few years since the fans got to see the best of Valentino Rossi, but since making the return to Yamaha, the Italian has been at his best. He made a great start to the new season by managing to finish in the second place at the opening Bahrain Grand Prix. Even though current world champion Jorge Lorenzo managed to secure victory in style, all the focus was on the Italian Rossi. He is once again back to winning ways and it has made all the Moto GP fans jubilant. Rossi endured two terrible years with the Italian team Ducati.

He made a return to Yamaha, where he enjoyed the best spell of this motorbike racing career, in the summer. The 34-year-old showed that he has lost none of his skills that have made him one of the best in the world by managing to fight back from the fifth position to finish the race in the second place. Rossi said after the race that he cannot aim for a better place than second because Jorge Lorenzo rode an absolutely perfect race. Marc Marquez, who was making his debut in the Honda, finished in the third place just behind Rossi. The 34-year-old Italian has said that he can hope to challenge for the title this season.

“It was great fun. Second place is the best I could do as Jorge was perfect. But it could have been a lot easier if I hadn’t made a mistake at the start. But I wanted a podium really badly so I try, try, try! This has been my target since last November when I returned to Yamaha and I think we can all enjoy this season,” said Rossi after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Dani Pedrosa finished in the fourth position for Honda.

ROSSI WANTS SUCCESS

The seven time Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi has said that he is expecting to be successful once again after returning to Yamaha at the start of the 2013 Moto GP season. Rossi has had two barren years with the Italian team Ducati during which time he has barely won a race. The Italian enjoyed a lot of success with the Japanese team Yamaha, and he has stated that the glory days could return soon. Rossi is expected to be one of the challenges for the Moto GP world championship title. Out of the seven championship titles he has won, four of them have been with Yamaha.

However, there have been rumours that Rossi will struggle to get along with the current champion Jorge Lorenzo. Rossi has had a difficult relationship with Jorge Lorenzo in the past. However, he has said that these issues have been buried and they will be working towards the benefit of the team. The 34-year-old has revealed that his perception of Lorenzo has changed dramatically during the time he spent at Ducati. He has praised Lorenzo for being friendly with him throughout his Moto GP career. Even though there were initial scepticism about returning to Yamaha, Rossi has said that it was ultimately proven to be the best decision.

“I changed my perception of Jorge, especially in the last two years. I had a lot of troubles but Jorge was always very friendly with me and also when he noticed I was coming back to Yamaha he was very happy, so I think we can be a good team. At the end it was, and still is, great from every point of view. Yamaha is a family for me. I shared with them the best moments of my career and I always had great time,” said Rossi.

ROSSI FIGHTS BACK

The Yamaha driver Valentino Rossi has responded to the criticism by saying that he has not forgotten the art of riding a motorcycle. The seven time world champion managed to go winless for the first time last season since entering the sport more than 17 years ago. He has returned to his former stomping ground Yamaha after a very bad spell with Ducati. His move to Ducati was one of the most anticipated due to the fact that they were also an Italian team, but the marriage did not go well. He has now returned to Yamaha in the hope of winning his eighth world championship title.

He has removed any doubts that he would not be competing at the top by posting extremely competitive times in the pre-season testing. Rossi has said that he has certainly not forgotten how to ride a motorcycle, but the last two years have been extremely difficult due to several changes with regard to the tires and electronics. Rossi has said that the Yamaha bike is much more comfortable for him, as it responds to the changes he makes and it also suits his driving style. He has said that he never felt the same conference when he was at Ducati.

“I was quite sure that after two bad seasons I had not forgotten how to ride. But in the last two seasons the way to ride the bike has changed very much, especially the electronics and the tyres. The riding style of the top guys – Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo – is very different compared to 2008 and 2009. So I have to change a lot and I didn’t know if I am able to. Now, after the first test, I feel a lot more confident because with the M1 if I try to modify something, it works – with my riding style,” said Rossi.

ROSSI CAN BE SUCCESSFUL

After two disappointing seasons with the Italian team Ducati, the seven time world champion Valentino Rossi can once again be successful in the sport according to the head of the organising body of the sport. Moto GP is one of the competitive and most popular sports around the world. Rossi is regarded as one of the legends of the sport after having won the driver’s championship title seven times in his career. However, his last success in the title race came in 2009 when he was with Yamaha. After the title success, he decided to move to the Italian team Ducati.

However, he has managed just three finishes in the podium in his two years with Ducati. His last victory in the race came in 2010, but there have been talks of a return to the top after he has returned back to Yamaha. Rossi has enjoyed incredible success with the Japanese team Yamaha over the years. He has lifted two world championship titles with the team. He is one of the experienced racers on the grid and he will be partnering the current world champion Jorge Lorenzo at Yamaha. The head of Moto GP, Carmelo Ezpeleta is confident that Rossi will return to winning ways once again.

“He thinks he can still win and I am completely sure that he can. I’m completely sure he can challenge, with all the talent he has and all the experience he has. When he took the decision to go back to Yamaha it was because he wants to come back to the front. He was winning with Yamaha before and he can be at the front again. Of course it is good for the sport if he can do it. Valentino is a big name, he is a hero to many and one of the greatest riders in MotoGP history,” said Ezpeleta.

LOTS TO LEARN

Marc Marquez has said that he is expecting to learn a lot in MotoGP by racing alongside the 21 times race winner Dani Pedrosa. He has also said that racing alongside Dani Pedrosa will help him to settle quickly in his new team. Marc Marquez has been named as the replacement for Casey Stoner, who will be retiring from the sport at the end of the season. Marquez has said that he is not at all underestimating the challenges that lies ahead of him. He will be making the step up to the pinnacle motorbike racing.

He has spoken about the challenges including the prospect of competing against the new world champion Jorge Lorenzo as well as being the teammate of Daniel Pedrosa. Marc Marquez’s position at Honda has been confirmed as early as in July, but he has said that the prospect of racing for one of the best teams in the world is yet to settle in because he has been so involved in the Moto2 racing championship. This weekend will be the final race of the Moto2 season. He is hoping that he will now be able to enjoy the moment of racing for Honda from next season onwards.

“As soon as I get onto MotoGP, it will be a shock: for its greater power, weight, and for its complex and obtrusive electronic management. I will try to learn calmly. I’m lucky because I will be teamed up with a good and expert rider: Dani had been my idol for his riding style. These days Jorge and Dani are scary: you can’t afford to ride like you do in Moto2, where you fight side-by-side all the time,” said Marquez. He has said that he is very much looking forward to winning the championship this season before coming to Honda.

ROSSI SADDENED BY SPORT

One of the most successful drivers of Moto GP, Valentino Rossi has criticised the sport by saying that it has lost its lustre in recent years. The seven time world champion Valentino Rossi has had a very difficult time with Ducati in the last three years. It was meant to be a dream match made in heaven, but it has not turned out that way because he has struggled to prevent the domination of the likes of Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo. This year has been dominated by Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa. Valentino Rossi has said that there are no serious changes within the rulebook in order to make the sport more entertaining.

However, he is confident that he will return to winning ways once he returns to Yamaha at the end of the season. Rossi had an extraordinary spell with Yamaha before moving to Ducati a few seasons ago. He has said that he has no regrets about moving to Ducati because he feels that the team achieved as high as possible. He has also won almost everything in his career to be able to not feel sad about not winning in the last three years. The current champion Casey Stoner will be retiring from the sport at the end of the season.

“You look at Moto3, the races are very exciting, Moto2 is fantastic and then MotoGP is boring. So they have to change the product. Now is the worst moment in MotoGP since I joined in 2000. It is the most boring moment. Races are quite bad and it is very difficult to stay awake. This is not the time in my career to be struggling every weekend like this,” said the 33-year-old Ducati driver. He has not managed a victory in the last 37 races.

STONER WILL RETIRE

The Moto GP champion Casey Stoner has revealed that he will be retiring from the sport this season in order to move to car racing in the future. The 26-year-old has revealed a few months ago that he will be retiring from the sport without actually mentioning the reasons behind his early departure from the sport. Casey Stoner only recently won the MotoGP world championship title after a spectacular season. However, he has not been able to defend the title this season after suffering a major injury during the season. He has been out for a number of weeks now, but is finally expected to be back from the ankle injury suffered a few weeks ago.

Casey Stoner has revealed that he has always had a passion for cars racing. He is expected to go into V8 car racing after a few years of practice. The Australian is currently the fifth greatest driver in the history of the sport after having won 37 races up until now. The Italian Valentino Rossi leads the table by long-distance after having taken 79 victories during his illustrious career. Casey Stoner can overtake the former Moto GP driver Mike Hailwood with just one more victory.

“I’m hoping to go car racing, it’s been a long time dream of mine. I’ve had a huge passion for V8s since I’ve been 12 or 14 years old. In the not too distant future I could be on the grid, you never know. Just recently I’ve shown more interest in cars. I have to be realistic and see whether I’ll be quick enough or not to be competitive, but it’s something I’d like to give a go, and I’ll definitely be around the paddock. The ligaments are healing as well as they can be,” said the Australian in a recent interview.

STONER UNSURE ON MOTO-GP

Casey Stoner has said that he is not sure whether he’ll be able to retain the Moto GP title that he won last season. The 26-year-old was badly injured in a recent accident, which has left him with the need to undergo surgery. The Australian has flown back to his home country in order to undergo the surgery, which will see him miss the Czech Republic Grand Prix as a result of it. He has also failed to put in a comeback date, which has put his future into question. Casey Stoner has been one of the shining riders in the Moto GP since Valentino Rossi.

He lifted the Moto GP title last season, but looks unlikely to retain the same this time around. Despite suffering a major injury in the race at Indianapolis, Casey Stoner managed to finish in the fourth position. However, he will not be taking part in the Czech Grand Prix after he has decided to act on the advice of the doctors, who have threatened him with a life threatening problem if he does not rest. Casey Stoner has won two Moto GP titles in his career. The victories in 2007 and 2011 are unlikely to be repeated in 2012 according to the Australian.

“Until we’ve had the surgery we won’t know. It’s disappointing news but it’s finished our championship. Normally my doctor doesn’t have a problem with me riding with injury but as soon as he read the report he advised me against riding in Indianapolis. All the reports have been the same, that I need to get off this foot as soon as I can. To have these kind of disappointments is frustrating, especially in my last year, but that’s racing,” said Stoner, who will be retiring from the spot at the end of the season.
