Marc Marquez has said that he is expecting to learn a lot in MotoGP by racing alongside the 21 times race winner Dani Pedrosa. He has also said that racing alongside Dani Pedrosa will help him to settle quickly in his new team. Marc Marquez has been named as the replacement for Casey Stoner, who will be retiring from the sport at the end of the season. Marquez has said that he is not at all underestimating the challenges that lies ahead of him. He will be making the step up to the pinnacle motorbike racing.
He has spoken about the challenges including the prospect of competing against the new world champion Jorge Lorenzo as well as being the teammate of Daniel Pedrosa. Marc Marquez’s position at Honda has been confirmed as early as in July, but he has said that the prospect of racing for one of the best teams in the world is yet to settle in because he has been so involved in the Moto2 racing championship. This weekend will be the final race of the Moto2 season. He is hoping that he will now be able to enjoy the moment of racing for Honda from next season onwards.
“As soon as I get onto MotoGP, it will be a shock: for its greater power, weight, and for its complex and obtrusive electronic management. I will try to learn calmly. I’m lucky because I will be teamed up with a good and expert rider: Dani had been my idol for his riding style. These days Jorge and Dani are scary: you can’t afford to ride like you do in Moto2, where you fight side-by-side all the time,” said Marquez. He has said that he is very much looking forward to winning the championship this season before coming to Honda.
