After two disappointing seasons with the Italian team Ducati, the seven time world champion Valentino Rossi can once again be successful in the sport according to the head of the organising body of the sport. Moto GP is one of the competitive and most popular sports around the world. Rossi is regarded as one of the legends of the sport after having won the driver’s championship title seven times in his career. However, his last success in the title race came in 2009 when he was with Yamaha. After the title success, he decided to move to the Italian team Ducati.
However, he has managed just three finishes in the podium in his two years with Ducati. His last victory in the race came in 2010, but there have been talks of a return to the top after he has returned back to Yamaha. Rossi has enjoyed incredible success with the Japanese team Yamaha over the years. He has lifted two world championship titles with the team. He is one of the experienced racers on the grid and he will be partnering the current world champion Jorge Lorenzo at Yamaha. The head of Moto GP, Carmelo Ezpeleta is confident that Rossi will return to winning ways once again.
“He thinks he can still win and I am completely sure that he can. I’m completely sure he can challenge, with all the talent he has and all the experience he has. When he took the decision to go back to Yamaha it was because he wants to come back to the front. He was winning with Yamaha before and he can be at the front again. Of course it is good for the sport if he can do it. Valentino is a big name, he is a hero to many and one of the greatest riders in MotoGP history,” said Ezpeleta.
