One of the most successful drivers of Moto GP, Valentino Rossi has criticised the sport by saying that it has lost its lustre in recent years. The seven time world champion Valentino Rossi has had a very difficult time with Ducati in the last three years. It was meant to be a dream match made in heaven, but it has not turned out that way because he has struggled to prevent the domination of the likes of Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo. This year has been dominated by Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa. Valentino Rossi has said that there are no serious changes within the rulebook in order to make the sport more entertaining.
However, he is confident that he will return to winning ways once he returns to Yamaha at the end of the season. Rossi had an extraordinary spell with Yamaha before moving to Ducati a few seasons ago. He has said that he has no regrets about moving to Ducati because he feels that the team achieved as high as possible. He has also won almost everything in his career to be able to not feel sad about not winning in the last three years. The current champion Casey Stoner will be retiring from the sport at the end of the season.
“You look at Moto3, the races are very exciting, Moto2 is fantastic and then MotoGP is boring. So they have to change the product. Now is the worst moment in MotoGP since I joined in 2000. It is the most boring moment. Races are quite bad and it is very difficult to stay awake. This is not the time in my career to be struggling every weekend like this,” said the 33-year-old Ducati driver. He has not managed a victory in the last 37 races.
